  • Powerwall is a single integrated AC-coupled unit—simpler in some ways, but you're buying one big can and its internal inverter.

Three final checks, in order of importance:

  1. Warranty registration. Pylontech warranties often require the installation to be registered and the commissioning report to be done properly. Check the current terms.
  2. Earthing and overcurrent protection. The battery manual is not a suggestion. Make sure the DC isolator, fusing, and cable sizing meet the manufacturer's installation requirements.
  3. Physical size and weight. A US2000 can be moved by one person; a US5000 is a different animal. If the install is on a first-floor plant room, plan for it.

When I implemented our verification protocol in 2022, we cut spec-related backcharges by a meaningful amount. The secret wasn't clever software. It was asking the same questions every single time.
